I would get rid of both of them and start from scratch, sometimes if there is only a partialy deleted program then it can get screwed up with the completed one.

The best option is get rid of both and install a fresh copy. But first backup your data.
The way to install a fresh copy of OS is put the CD in and boot up the system and then it will give you an option to boot from the CD, select that then you can see step by step guidance of installing the OS.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, you can't just 'remove' one of the two installations. I would have thought that Windows would be smart enough to overwrite itself. hmmm
I think that what you would have to do is to back up all of your 'stuff' and then format your drive (there's a process to do this when you're starting the Windows installation).
Sounds ugly, but it's really not too bad

Go to the command line
Edit c:\boot.ini using NotePad

Open My Computer and open drive C:
Delete the old Windows directory.
Have fun but be safe!
