Dear tiffani
You won't like this -
Know any adherents of Islam? I've met a few. I didn't notice any AK-47s or explosives strapped around their waists. Of course they didn't hail from Iraq or Palestine. The Iraqis want the US and its allies out of their country, that has little to do with Islam.
There is also an internal struggle for power in Iraq between majority Shiites and the minority Sunnis who held power under the S. Hussein regime. Hussein might have been a nominal Sunni but I'd say he had as much to do with Islam as Hitler had to do with Christianity. Check out the internal struggle in Northern Ireland between Catholic and Protestant paramilitaries which has gone quiet for the time being at least. In Iraq US and allied troops are getting in the way of that, just as the British Army got in the way in Nth Ireland.

The al Q and J-I mobs are nutters, not all that much different from the old Baader-Meinhof crowd but a lot more successful. In fact the only real difference is that they attacked the USA instead of just local targets. That had to do with the presence of US troops in Saudi Arabia which al-Q regard as holy and the US support of Israel as a secondary issue. I'm not excusing them, I just making the point that there were reasons which might have seemed good to them.
The Palestinians have a long-running struggle with the Israelis and anyone who supports Israel. The question is land and water, not so much religion.
Told you you would not like it.

The faith has been explained in many ways, however, the problem with Ismam is that it is intertwined with culture. For Christians, it very apparent that our religion is different from our cultures and we embrace other cultures with regardless of their faith. The question of revelation cannot be generalised, because, revelation is only relevant to those who believe in that particular faith. I don't think Islam will be one day be revealed to non Islams, unless for those who seek to understand it in order to join the religion.

It depends on who you ask. If you ask someone who looks at things logically then Islam was exposed at it's inception. It has a history of violence that continues today. Just because some choose to rewrite history doesn't change the fact that Islam has always been violent and continues today to be such.
However, if you ask a Muslim, who sincerely isn't trying to kill you for not being Muslim, they would say that not all Muslims are that way. Of course, the one you just asked wasn't. However, are they good Muslims, no. If they aren't following the Koran, which says you must kill pagans and put heavy taxes on Christians or Jews if they won't convert, they aren't good Muslims.
If you ask a liberal, they will always defend those that we are at war with. Whether the Communist Vietnamese, the Soviets, or the Muslims, liberals have a history of defending our enemies.

You are making a generalized statement....look at Muslims as individuals..pple who are doing bad will go to hell no matter what..but there are good muslims out there who respect other religions/prophets and are just trying to earn a good living but closed minded pple who make generalized statements are making them suffer just as much. Is that what your religions teaches you???? Mine certainly doesnt...I'm not standing up for all Muslims...I'm only standing up for ISLAM - the religion of peace which has been misconstrued by Christians as much as some Muslims.

Not yet.
When people in the Europe and America learn about islam from muslims instead of the Pope or Tony Blair or Bush etc then there may be a chance.

Islam stands for peace, and for many years it has stood up to that definition. It is only the minority extremists who are hell bent on destroying the religion and all that it stands for that have given the opportunity to narrow minded people to say so otherwise.

i think you are mistaken, islam is a basic religion just like chrisitanity and judiaism, the only think that has most people confuzed is that radical islam is people taking the koran word for word, and as law, we could do the same with christianity and it would seem as crazy as what terrorist are doing, also radical islamics use the koran as law, where we seperate the two, however there are many islamic people who are very peacefuland the relgion is nothing more than that a religion........

What, a brutal protection racket trading on primitive superstition and super beings in the sky.
Sell the idea to DC. They'd make millions - oh sorry, they already have.
