You cannot convert a compressed file/folder to an application that can be opened with a program such as Acrodobe and Microword - you need to unrar using WinRAR and then convert by opening in word and printing it using a pdf printer.

Hope this helped.

Though this conversion will not help you view the file in Winword or Acrobat, if its just that you want it to look like a Word or PDF file the simplest way is to change its extension.

Ensure that file view options is selected to show all file extensions. This is done on XP by opening any folder and selecting Tools/view options. In Win 98 you can set this option from the Start menu/folder options.
Now files will be shown with their extensions. Right click the rar file and select rename. rename the bit after the dot to doc or pdf.
Once this is done the icon changes to that of a winword or pdf document.
Remove the view extension option after this.
Its a easy way to disguise files that you dont want somebody else to open.
I use .exe, .cab, .iso etc for this purpose.

You can't. A .RAR file is a compressed file like a .ZIP file. You might be able to convert the file inside of the .RAR file, but not the .RAR file itself.

A RAR file is an archive, there are files within that file.

Use an application like WinRAR to unzip those files to a folder so you can see what's in them first.
