I think there is a good argument for both. Solitary is simple, its just you and the divine. But there are times, when its available to you, that working with others, even as a loose coven, is just something you need to do. Raising energy with other people you feel comfortable with is something magickal within itself.

Solitary. for an analogous motives you have suggested here. the two covens I had labored with had develop into stagnant and various of the individuals did no longer care approximately gaining expertise of something. They have been too stressful approximately titles and being praised for them. As a solitary, i do no longer could positioned up with that kinda crap and that i'm able to pass away the "crushed course" while i've got self belief like. while, interior of those covens besides, possible no longer herald new counsel if it contradicted what they have suggested. a number of those Pagan sects are performing basically like Mainstream religions - unique us of a golf equipment without spirit.

I my line of work, we refer to it as a cabal rather than a coven, but same general idea. I prefer it greatly; I was a member of one a few years back that ran around 8-10 people, and I left only because I moved. Now I have one other person who I practice with, which is still a more stimulating environment to me than solitary.

A coven is very difficult to find and can be even harder to get into. I prefer solitary practice, although it has taken quite a bit of research to learn to do it alone.

I would definitely prefer a tribe, grove or tuath. Unfortunately, there aren't any others who follow our path in our community. Perhaps someday. In the meantime, my husband and I are comfortable worshiping alone or with each other.
