To the idiot that first answer, You really should learn how to read! I didnt know you own the country and had a problem with people becoming citizens, I have been a legal resident since I was 5 so there is no need to jump a border and get in.

You don't need a lawyer to become a citizen. The application is downloadable and free. There is also sample questions for the citizenship tests, and study material free on the web for your use.

My advise: Dump the lawyer. You can do this yourself.

You are doing great. Unlike some people. I live in the UK and i want to immigrate to Canada fair and square and i am just going to do the same like you, just without a lawyer i think. Good luck and also, you can get a sponsor that can sponsor you for the next couple of years so all your expenses are basically paid.

I want to applaud you for doing this the proper way. It's unfortunate that most others won't.
As for your question, most things in our judicial system move much smoother with representation, so I would stick with having an attorney. Perhaps you could look around for one who isn't charging as much?

I think you should stick with the lawyer or get a new one but you should alway use a lawyer to do all these legal documents.
