Why do you need them to visit? Did you see something that warrants a call to the police? Or, do you want an officer to visit to talk to the children as part of a demonstration? If you work in such a setting, and see something that needs to be reported, you need to report it to not only the police (call the local number if it is not an emergency, and I'm guessing it's not since you haven't called already) but to licensing in your state as well. A call to licensing will most definitely result in an investigation of the center, if that is what you are after. If you have problems with a parent (say, a parent who is not supposed to pick up the child- has a restraining order or something) then call the local police number for assistance. If, on the other hand, you just want the police to come and talk with the children, call the local number and tell the receptionist what you need and they will direct you to the person who arranges officer visits. Tell them what you want the police person to talk about, and how old the students are, so they will know to send a person who is comfortable dealing with and talking with very young children.

I help run an after-school club for primary school age children. Over the summer the theme was 'Emergency'.
We had visits from the Fire Service (who came with a fire engine!), the Blue Cross (animals), the Red Cross (who charged us, even though we are a charity ourselves - the ambulance people were worse than useless, though!) and the police. All I did was ring people up. With the police, I just dropped into the local police station and asked them!
All of the people were brilliant - they were able to deal with a very large difference in age groups and so on. Just tell them what you want. And the younger they manage to get to the children, the more they want to behave properly!

I work in a nursery school. You need to call the State department and file an anonymous complaint; giving details. Then the state department will come out an investigate. At least that is the way it is in Texas. But if you are really having an emergency you need to call you local police department and file a complaint. I know your probably worried about your job, but if their is abuse going on and you don't report it, you are just as guilty.

there is usually a special deparment which visit schools giving talks and demonstrations.Phone your local police station & they will put you through to the relevent people. Even better, find out if any of the childrens parents are police officers or any friends of the parents. Sometimes children relate better to them if they are knbown by one of the children.
I did this with my nursery and the children were allowed in the police car in small groups which they talked about for weeks after. Great fun. They usually give out free stickers and posters too.
Have fun,

Phone your local police station, not 999 unless it is an emergency, and ask for the community liaison. They should be more than happy to come and visit your nursery!

Contact your local police station and ask the officer in charge, they can ether tell you who to call or they will make arrangements to come out. They love that kind of stuff. Have you tried the fire department, the kids love that too and so do the firemen.

1: If it is for a crime ie suspect abuse then you telephone social services immediatly. Go to your manager, write down every single detail about the inccident.
2:If you want them to come and give a talk to the children then phone your ocal police station and ask to speak to the community officer all areas have one. They will be more than happy to help.

Call them up and ask if the school officer can come visit. Our police dept. has several officers that work w/ the school, they can bring hand - outs, to a Stranger Danger presentation - it's there for the asking.

Why do you want them to visit? If a crime has been committed then call 999.
If you want them to do a talk type thing for the kids then go to your local police station and ask them.
