Do you think intolerance in the world is an inherent part of human nature? For untold millenia the human race has merged, co-habited the same regions, interbred and, at the same time, fought over their differences- multi-culturalism is no new thing.
So is the intolerance for race, creed, sex and religion that we see every day part of some unspoken, integral balance in the world, as it has (at least in my opinion) proved that it is here to stay?
What do you think? Thanks!
PS, serious posts only please.

Yes, unfortunately. It is all a part of the nature of duality. Without knowing intolerance, we would never know tolerance.

I feel that intolerance is the unnecessary evil that permeates mankind. We conceptually solved the vast majority of our problems thousands of years ago. The vast majority hate intolerance in others while overlooking their own; this is the problem that has and continues to plague civilisation. It's hard to see any answer to it; if you point it out people are very intolerant of your views.
There is the idea that wars, plagues, famine, etc. are part of a system (Gaia) that balances population growth, and that man's disposition towards violence and oppression are part of the regulatory mechanism. It may well be valid, though it strikes me that we should be able to deny our programming if we put our minds to it.

Even in large families (I have 11 brothers and sisters) there is intolerance.
Growing up, I went through all the emotions, love-hate-loyalty-sorrow-joy and a host of others.
The sad truth is, many of my brothers and sisters will not even speak to each other.
This comes from the parents.
If you have loving parents, supportive and encouraging, staunch allies in adversity, then you have a strong foundation with which to face the world.
This is reflected in the world at large.

It seems that the people who are ranting on the most about intolerance at the moment (the muslims) are the people who are the most racist and intolerant.

Intolerance is because of human nature. I believe we should tolerate all. We should offer the truth as we see it and let them decide, and respect their decision.

It is part of the nature of the fallen man, when Adam and Eve sinned, God's perfect creation became seriously tainted and we have stayed that way

I believe intolerance comes from not knowing, fear, we are scared of what we don't know, it is easy to believe the worst we hear, rather than try to empathise with the way others are ," he who is without sin, throw the first stone"

This happened because the entire world population stayed in one place, instead of obeying God (Jesus Christ) and spreading through the world, so he had to confuse the language, to make the world populated.
Blame man for disobedience to God.

Intolerance is tolerated because people are too lazy to really understand other people

Language creates Us and Them.
Domesticated primates created language.
As long as Us and Them exsist, there is intolerence.
