According to the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare:
Pennsylvania has no laws regarding minimum age requirements for when a child may be left home alone. These decisions are left to parental discretion. Some factors to consider when addressing this issue should include the maturity level of the child, the time of day and length of time the child will be alone, any safety issues regarding the child's home or neighborhood and the child's comfort level with the arrangements made. Rules regarding behavior expectations, not opening doors to strangers and how to access help in case of an emergency should also be provided to the child.

It's not so much the age of the child, it's the maturity and responsibility of the child. Are you concerned they may throw a house party while you're gone? Or any other similar concerns? Trust your gut instinct and get a baby sitter if, for any reason, you are skeptical about leaving your child home alone. Better safe than sorry.

I wouldn't leave any child under the age of 16 alone home overnight. There are too many dangers.

i think of the 1st time i replaced into homestead without my mothers and dads, i replaced into 13 and my youthful brother replaced into 8. i could have been worried relating to the persons no longer being there, yet I felt safer because of the fact we had a Doberman . . . . while a baby is waiting for that duty/freedom is going to rely on the baby, the living affiliation (homestead in the rustic vs. condominium in a bad area), etc. somewhat, no baby could be left on my own in one day except the baby could be depended on at homestead on my own all day.

I don't know what the law is there but most states its 10-12 if they have a law at all. I think 12 is reasonable, if the kid is ready.
