Oct. 5, 2006 — How bad is bad? After six weeks away from Iraq and returning to Baghdad, I find the city appears much worse than when I left.

Last week, according to a U.S. military spokesman, Baghdad experienced more attacks from car bombs and improvised explosive devices than at any other time this year. In the last six days, 24 U.S. soldiers have died in Baghdad, numbers that haven't been seen in the city since the 2003 invasion.

ABC's local Iraqi staff tell us the USA military will not visit certain neighborhoods due to so many attacks.

The U.S. military said the reason for the increased casualty rate is that U.S. troops are now aggressively engaging the enemy, and they expected some push back. Military experts say this could end up like Vietnam. The USA military admits the war is getting harder to fight everyday.

Yes, and it will keep getting worse as time goes on. The only way to really fix Iraq is get the hell out before any more Americans are hurt or killed.

My sister went to a conference in Turkey a few weeks a go. She spoke with some Iraqis who attended the conference. Their feeling was that things are worse due to the Iranians who come over to attack them and the coalition forces. Both the Iraqi men, however, did not want the USA to leave anytime soon and have confidence in what will happen in the long term.

Once again, a FABRICATED story by Erudite. He has once again broke copyright laws by changing the news story from ABC to fit his cause of hatred.

Please check the actual source for the TRUE story. Once again, report Erudite to Yahoo for his copyright violation. I'm sure ABC would also like to know that this site is promoting him doing this.

Keep is up Erudite. Your lies and hatred are getting you no place. Do you really think people trust and believe you?? You're proven a liar and a fake all the time. You can't handle the truth, so you make things up to suit you. You can't win this way.

The US Soldiers are Jonesin' for alcohol, football, chicken fingers and weed. So they're letting their guard down and hopefully, by the grace of God North Korea just puts a quick abrupt halt to this pathetic money-obsessed world...

The only way Vietnam ended the way it did was because the politicians in Washington tried to run the war by appeasing everyone. It gets soldiers killed.

Prior to the invasion all they had was Saddam doing his dastardly deeds.=, now you have insurgents which are Iraq people turned militant blowing up their own kind and US troops as well, there are no jobs and food and water even oil is being rationed. I think it is just going to get worse not better.

It's not about a "war on terror", "fighting for freedoms", or being "worse now than three years ago". It's REALLY all about THIS!...
