N.Korea announced plans to test nuclear missiles this week!

Like what. Arm chair politicans and soldiers! Bombing North Korea would be the end. In October 1950, China entered the Korea war and kicked our butts. They dared us to drop the atomic bombs on them. They knew their population was so large that for us to be able to put a dent in it would have caused so much atomic energy to have been expended the world as we knew it would have ceased to exist. Well, they have even more people now; we would have a hard time using nukes on North Korea, as due to their proximity to South Koreas we would be killing an ally. The North Koreas rolled over the South in 1950 but would have a harder time this time. Japan has a non-aggression Constitution but I believe they would have to come to the aid of the South. If not and the North wins they would keep going over Japan.

Based on how long it took to deal with the Lebanon affair,( what happened to all those "is this WW3?" Are we going to Invade Lebanon ?, I hate Jews ? people from August) don't hold your breath......
A) We are still in diplomatic mode. Not working ,but we do it anyway.....
B) Nobody in the North Pacfic region is backing the NK's. China, Russia, Japan and the USA are all against this nuc thing.
C) To counter the Missle threat to Japan, We have stationed GG's & DDG's to Japan as well as Patrriot missiles. A force build up in Guam continues. The bases in South Korea are being moved south of the DMZ to keep them from attack.
D) What to do is unclear still. Limited strike? Full war? Economic sanctions? Still all in play...
E) Time still on clock. The NK's are still some time from a deliverable weapon. They are getting closer....

As the United Nations is like a dog with no teeth (all bark and no bite) the only thing that they will do is to issue sanctions against North Korea. The petty maniacal dictator in North Korea is not afraid of sanctions. He is blaming the United States for his need for atomic weapons. The United States will not do anything, because we are afraid of not being politically correct.

yes because they are OBVIOUSLY much more closer than iran in developing nuclear weapons and for some reason the US government is only concerned with placing sanctions on a country that hasn't even made the freaking bomb yet. i think OUR government is right in doing this to iran to prevent them from being like N. Korea but they need to sanction both countries ASAP!!!!

It's a-comin so to speak...Japan will speak to Korea this week......Japan has taken a hard line with the change in government leader, (survival so to speak) as the countries are neighbours .....Unfortunately the US is overcommited in areas of the Middle-East, however should the talks between Japan and North Korea unearth a sniff of black gold,....and.....the Asian problem is not "sorted" by neighbouring nations....well your guess is as good as mine as to WHAT happens next. ..... So I guess it's time!

When has the UN actually done anything without the US? They rarely enforce any of their mandates. I think the US should get out it and quite taking abuse from them and sending our troops do their dirty work. They don't respect us, they just like our money and military.

Well lets just skip the U.N. they are useless,Yes this lunatic needs to be stopped ,But seems to me half of all Americans are against our government ,The morons will start with the President is a murderer, when in fact he is doing great things.

HOLD PLEASE!!! are you kidding me?! the us is part of the un, technically we should listen to them (the whining wussies they have become) on a topic like that. so it should not be grouped like that.
it's time the un got off it's mamby pamby butt, made the popping noise, and did something productive about anything or just dissolve! they have become useless! they don't even hold any authority anymore. "now, now, we don't want to go do that us. just settle down and be a good kid." yeah, like we listened.
