Well stop being such an obnoxious neighbour then! You might like your music but you must remember that this is (still) a free (well almost) country and other people have different taste in music.

Why should you inflict your choice on others? Just turn it down and then that will be the end of it.

Perhaps you could attend English lessons at college instead - or even learn to use the spell check?

pollution, allowed, decibels, neighbours, complain ........... and, why not ASK the council.

There isn't one the Noise Pollution act states the following:

Local Authorities have a duty to investigate noise nuisance complaints. Most complaints received by councils relate to domestic noise. The Environmental Protection Act 1990, Sections 79 - 81, defines a STATUTORY noise nuisance as being noise prejudicial to health or a nuisance from premises, and from vehicles, machinery and equipment in the street, and the powers of the local authority to deal with the problem. (Noise also includes vibration). In other words if you're upsetting the neighbours then they can complain and it is up to the environmental health officer to decide whether the case is justified. Ask yourself this question, if you were trying to get to sleep at night would you be happy with the level of noise be honest and think about having to go to work etc, if the honest answer is no then you are too noisy and the complaint is valid

Then turn it down. It's not about how legal the noise is, it's about respect for others. If you neighbours are complainng turn it down and make others happy. Or you could carry on being selfish and slowly drive others crazy 'cos you can't be bothered to use headphones.

have you considered turning the volume down so that people don't report you? It's not nice having noisy neighbours. How would you like it? It's 'decibels' by the way.

it depends where you live. I only did about this in a lecture yesterday.

but for general sub-urban areas, neighbours should not have to suffer over 45dBA in the day and 35dBA at night.
