A few years ago a lot of people were dying from living on protein powder only. So if you take one, you should only substitute one or two meals for it. At least once a day you need a real meal, balanced nutritionally. SlimFast is one and I like the chocolate. Boost is another but I have never tried it.
Take vitamins every day. Also, you should try walking. That will help you tremendously. Good Luck.

No. i'd not use milk and that i'd be particular that there is not any longer fairly some sugar in the powder protein. Water with possibly some nonfat yogurt and some berries is a good determination. A protein shake is in simple terms no longer the answer, you should eat a lot less energy than your body needs to maintain your weight. in case you truly had to drop pounds, decrease out all starches (breads, pastas) and sugars. eat fairly some vegetables (fiber keeps you feeling complete), end result 2-3 cases an afternoon, lean proteins (rooster breast, tuna, turkey), and drink water.

You're really better off making your own. Many protein shakes out there have high fructose corn syrup in them, which is the father of all dietary evil (makes you fat, causes adult-onset diabetes, raises "bad" cholesterol while loweing "good" cholesterol). All you need to make your own is a good-quality whey protein concentrate like Optimum Nutrition 100% whey or Champion Nutrition 100% whey, skim milk, some rolled oats, and frozen fruit with no sugar added. Don't have an exact recipe for making them, but what you're aiming for is an equal amount of carbohydrates and protein in each shake, so start with one cup of skim milk and one scoop of whey protein, then add rolled oats and frozen fruit (more fruit than oats) to get that equal amount of carbs and protein.
You should also know that protein shakes may help you lose weight and tone up, but if the rest of your diet is not in order and you're not getting any exercise (both aerobic AND strength training), protein shakes aren't going to help. Check out the Mens Health website (http://www.menshealth.com), click on the "Discussions" link, and under the bulletin boards for Diet and Fitness do a search for "clean eating" and "HGM" or "home grown muscle workout." You'll find everything you need to know about proper nutrition and strength training to acheive ANY goal.
Good luck!

Well along with a good diet and a healthy schedule of exercise, Isopure has been helpful to my BF. He says it tastes nice and I gotta say while he lifts weights he is getting the protein needed for the muscles.
He loves the vanilla.

Optimum
Protein supplements will not make you lose weight and tone muscles. It provides crucial building blocks and suppoer for doing so. YOu still need proper nutrition and to burn more calories than consumed
