I often have dreams at night about work during the day. This is very annoying as it is like my working hours extended to night and obviously I won't get paid for it.

HAHA that is so funny, you are right you won't get paid over time for dreaming of work. You need to find something else to do during the day that you like that you can focus your attentions on. Maybe there is an unresolved issue at work that you need to work through. Either way just do some intersting things in your off time, spend time with friends and family and you'll see that your dreams of work will decrease.

Most people define themselves by what they do for a living. They allow their jobs to consume their entire being. Put things back into perspective. You work as a means to pay the bills and earn a living...nothing more. It does not define you as a person. When you leave work, mentally tell yourself that you are leaving your job behind for the rest of the day and will pick up again tomorrow. Even tell yourself "their work stays on their time; my time is for my life". The brain is a very obedient one and will do as it is told. The dreams should stop by doing this. Give it a try! It does work.

Check your blood sugar. When one has a low blood sugar episode in the night, it may result in dreaming about things likely to wake one up (the brain wants exercise or food to get blood sugar higher).

A balanced snack before bed may keep your blood sugar level for the night, reducing nightmares.

www.hufa.org has info on how to self-test for low blood sugar.

done this before, don't worry it will pass. stay away from caffeine during nights, drink some water not to much, and make something else in your life worth dreaming about.

You are stressed about your work. Look for a less stressful job. Then, you'll start dreaming about the fun of looking for work.
