1. Lynton and Lynmouth are picturesque towns - and the scene of the Lynmouth Flood Disaster on 15 August 1952 (very similar to what happened in Boscastle, Cornwall on 16 August 2004).

2. Minehead is not bad and has the West Somerset Railway (run by volunteer steam train enthusiasts).

3. There's the already mentioned Exmoor Falconry & Animal Farm, at Allerford

4. But there's also the Exmoor Zoo (formerly Exmoor Bird Gardens), just outside the western edge of national park at Stowford.

5. A little further to the west is Croyde Bay - great for a day's surfing, and to buy some delicious homemade ice cream in the village.

Hi

If you have kids there's www.tropiquaria.co.uk . It has animals and both indoor and outdoor play depending on weather.

I think there's also a Falconry somewhere in the area.
