I yearn for a traditional roast dinner, while people in the Uk take these for granted, I miss them here, I can't cook one as hubby doesnt eat them, and too hot to have the oven on for hours, its almost 18 months since I last had one, I can almost taste it, roast beef, crispy yorkshire puddings, blackened on the edges and cripy underneath, fresh carrots with butter, mashed potatoes with butter and black pepper, peas, stuffing ( yes, i have it with everything) and mint sauce...sprouts, cabbage.....ahhhhhhh and a touch of bisto...

Hmmmmm, creamy mash and butter *makes happy Homer Simpson noise* aaggghhhh!
Always have a big breakfast, (you're body burns breakfast calories the quickest) and this leaves you full till lunch.
Have a coffee (caffeine suppresses appetite) and have a mint (mints or brushing you're teeth kills a craving) but don't chew gum, all the chewing will make you're tummy get ready for a meal, and make it grumble more.
Don't worry, almost lunch time!

Oh my god I'm exactly the same!! I spend all morning obsessing over what to get for lunch. Then I'll spend all afternoon obsessing over what to have for dinner. All I want right now is a jacket potato with beans and cheese... Yum! The only time I don't think about food is when I'm actually working, which apparently isn't too often.
Maybe nibbling on fruit during the day will keep your appetite suppressed and your mind won't wander so much?

Eat a good breakfast. Keep a bowl of fruit on your desk, and drink lots of water, should help the hunger pangs at bay.
Sadly it isn't creamy mash, but it will taste even better when you get home!

how unfair... i am starving now and also dreaming about luxurious mash... mmmmmmmmmm... mmmmmmmmm... but where can i get some now!? real mash, not that smash mash. i am not a fan of that. i need the real thing. i can buy a baked potato with a wee bit of butter, pour milk on it, mix it up with a bit of salt and pepper.. i think that'll do for the time being. i'd love a piece of corn on the cob to go with. i guess its winter food to go with this cold weather... thanks for the inspiration

you need it obviously!! i know how you feel. mash is such a great comfort food and i crave carbs so much specially when i got pmt! anyway my advice is to keep some healthy snacks handy all the time so you don't crave like crazy and go for the stodge every time!! keep nuts and fruit and yogurt and oat cakes or rice cakes and even a bit of dark chocolate- that should keep it at bay!! also........you're probably bored!!
