Not if you find your toilet luxuriously comfortable...

Seriously though, many people seem to do it, so it can't be all that bad. I've attached some links below for you to check out.

Hey! Yes there are bad effects if one only eats fruits for a very long time. Some people do have success with losing weight on a fruit diet for a short time. Emphasis is on SHORT TERM. After a while, the body will start to leach out calcium from bones and teeth, and protein from muscle.

As others have mentioned, it is important to be careful about protein and some small amounts of healthy fats, like fish oil and some vegetable oils,

Minerals such as calcium are also very important, and iron for females. Many fruits and vegetables no longer are able to get enough trace minerals from the ground.

Your friend needs to take a good multivitamin with minerals, and avoid artificial and over-refined sugars such as are in sodas, and avoid alcohol. Also, simple fruit sugar is a simple carbohydrate, it is broken down quickly, so she may need to snack several times a day to keep her metabolism up.

The fruit diet doesn't work for some, but for others it works very well. Just make sure she doesn't overdo it, and follows the directions of the diet.

You do need your protiens. It is a healthy opart of a good diet, but you need other things.
I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Eating from only one food group is never healthy.

Now you can eat primarily fruit if that is your preference, but you do need a balanced diet. And if you have a problem with foods that come from animals, you can still find healthy foods from the other food groups, that would not interfere with that.

But you must have a balanced diet to stay healthy.

Yes. They are basically sugars and water. Sugar turns to carbs turns to fat. So even fruit in excess can be bad for you. They also take a really long time to digest. Despite all this they actually are good for you in moderation. Have 5 servings of fruit and veg a day and you will be fine, but don't forget to add protein or you will start feeling sluggish with no energy.

Up to a week there is no problem. Be sure to drink well during that period. Water that is and NO alcohol. You will become a alcohol production factory on legs as it is, don't ad to that.

If diarrhea sets in you may want to go back to a more balanced diet. It is your body telling you: "Enough is enough."

You or whoever will be missing a lot of nutrients. Like protein. That is also a good way to become anemic.
