I don't have too much criticism for our president, but I just wanted to stop in and say, "Great question."
Some of these people are so brainwashed it's not even funny. "If Bush hadn't been president, 9/11 wouldn't have happened." PLEASE. It was going to happen no matter WHO was president. It had been planned for several years. If Clinton had cared about al Qaida even HALF as much as he cared about cheating on his wife, THEN there would not have been a 9/11. If Carter hadn't been so spineless, and our military had not been so crippled as a result of the Vietnam war, THEN 9/11 would not have happened.
Some of these people act like Bush and Clinton were the first and second president of the US. They are ignorant of HISTORY.
As for Iraq, it was NOT a blunder, and the Senate and Congress both voted for us to go to war. Not only that, but other countries also believed Hussein had WMD's. Guess what. That's because he DID have them.
People in Hussein's own regime have said so! Sorry, I believe them over our ridiculous media.

I would have been candid and open about any of my actions that may have contributed to the attacks happening, Bush has not. I would have followed and implemented all recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, Bush has not.
I would have remained focused on bin Laden's capture and not became sidetracked invading a country that had nothing to do with the attacks, no wmd, no direct connection at all. And has made us less safe by creating more terrorists, more people that hate America.

I would have taken the support of the entire world, like it was done in Afghanistan, and not lied to the country and to the world, abt non existent WMDs and gone in alone with a few cronies like a bully with a pre decided mindset.
That is why the world opinion is against Bush, and by extension, against USA.
World supports USA in Afganistan coz of 9/11.
World is against USA in Iraq coz it had nothing to do with 9/11. And it hates bullies, particularly those who lie and go to war on that basis.
Do u get it now?
And by the way, are Americans now safe anywhere else in the world except in USA? Also why did the bombings happen in Bali, London, Madrid and Mumbai? There is a world beyound the shores of USA. Do Americans realise that?

I would have gone after Bin Laden in Afghanistan, and not relent by starting a second war without finishing the first.
Now, he's got us in a big mess but no worries for him. He'll retire into his presidential mansion, with his presidential benefits, leaving the citizens of the US financially screwed and looking like idiotic bullies in the eyes of the world.

I would have secured the border (fence and electrified if necessary). Made everyone have a photo Social security card with a thumb print, so we know people are legal, every legal citizen has to have a social security card anyway. I would have gotten together with other countries to fight terrorism collectively, instead of rushing into war unprepared. I would have used my political advantage, while most other countries were on our side, to strengthen ties with other countries. Now most of the world sees us as invaders, who are responsible for killing over 2,700 of our troops in a ill though out war, thousands of Iraq's and making the world less safe than it has ever been. I would have gone to congress to pass a law legally, that we can listen to calls going into or out of countries that are not our friends and harbor terrorists. I would not have used torture. I would have used truth serum such as,scopolamine. I would have deported people who want to bring our country down. I would enforce our laws.

i would have taken the info..i got months ago...and arrested the guys that they had been following for a year...and getting citizenships...even while on the terrorist list....i wouldn't have had to do anything after 9-11 right?i would have put those billions into finding bin-ladin...if he really did it....did you know he used to go buy a different name....and we did business with him....because he was buying millions of dollars in weapons....we make our own bed...it is so weird...that almost everybad guy that we are fighting against.....used to, at one time live in America....and somehow was trained by the CIA...hmmm.....they are taking candy from a baby.....

great question. for those of you who said you would have went into Afghanistan and not Iraq. you are now caught in a country with no means of support. you are cornered in there. strategically speaking you have made a great military blunder. good job explain to the American people why you are trapped in a country surrounded by enemies that has no strategic or political value. Saddam is still in power, Iran and Iraq have cut off oil supplies to the world, china starving for oil is getting out of hand. now what you brilliant military planners?

invaded Afghanistan. Stayed out of Iraq. Focused on diplomacy with Saudi Arabia to get them to quit giving oil money to these fundamentalist schools that continue to churn out believers in a radical form of islam.
