I can copy the MiniSD but not the mini cassettes.

Do you have a firewire port installed on your computer? You need this in order to transfer the video. If not, no worries.. there is a plugin card + software for capture & editing that you can purchase that will make your life a whole lot easier. Step by step instructions included. There are actually two up for bid as we write.. The 1st one listed is the plug and play only (no software included). You can purchase this if you already have software for editing on your computer such as Movie Maker 2. Or you can go w/ the 2nd one listed which is the entire package. The plug and play module and the software needed for editing and such. The Pinnacle software is awesome. I'd suggest this particular software especially if you are new to all of this.

well if you want to copy to a pc you simply connect it thru you pc's USB port and your cam's USB output. .To record on a dvd recorder you'd simply need to connect either outputs (s-video or composite ) and your audio out to your recorder's input .
