If a woman can't deal with that for practical reasons, just like she wouldn't want a man wih bad credit, I can understand. It's just that, if a woman doesn't know me, and she hears that I'm an ex convict, she thinks I'm a serial rapist, and I'm actually a nice guy.

I was convicted of battery. Any woman who checks me out on the internet will assume I beat up my wife/girlfriend. Actually, I nearly killed a child molester, who was threatening to kill me for calling the cops on him.

DUDE! I think I read about you in the newspaper or Reader's Digest! Anyway, WHY do you divulge that in the very beginning if it was so insignificant? And, now that you have been in prison, for who knows how long, people may be less concerned for why you were there, rather than that you WERE there. 'Bad company spoils good manners'. Know what I mean? So, if I met you, I would rather not know from the first time, that you were in prison. I would take the person you are RIGHT NOW and how you act RIGHT NOW. So behave, 'k?

That comes with the territory. Some mistakes follow you forever. You probably feel like you have to explain your past to every woman you date, that's a pain, but they have a right to know and they should be told when you see that there is going to be more than one date.Sooner or later you will find someone who isn't afraid of your past.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, until they prove me wrong about trusting them. All people should adopt this philosophy.

depends what you were convicted for.
if it was for violence or sexual misconduct you should tell her before becoming sexually intimate with her.
anything else you can avoid mentioning it until marriage is proposed.

Start by showing her your jailhouse tatts and explain your fondness for anal sex. That would break the ice for sure!
