If you are Canadian, be very sure that you have explored all the options in Canada before you go South.

I had a friend who was told on the Internet, by an American, that treatment in Canada was practically non existant for her son's rare disease, and that his only hope was to go south. She got ready to sell her house and close up the pension plan. After more investigation, he was operated on in Canada and the treatment in the US special radiation facility was covered by her Provincial health plan.

Health Care in the US is sometimes a commodity to be advertised like soap or junk food. That isn't to say that Cancer Treatment Centers of America isn't a good place but consumers should always be aware.

I was about to ask the same thing. I saw the commercial last night and I checked out the website.

My mom died of breast cancer and we wanted her to get a second opinion, but we didn't push it. I really think she needed a place like this one. She started to hate going to her doctor. To make matters worse, there is a CTCA not far from where she lived in PA.

She died three weeks ago today and it hurts that there where other options out there and we left them unexplored. I almost cried when I read the survivor testimonies, b/c she could very well have been one of them.

I read alot of info on the website and it appears to be a wonderful option for cancer patients.
