Hello Dora
well done for putting that last bit in,,,, some people think that we can't wait for are kids to grow up and get out. I know that's not what you mean. As a mother of one. My daughter grew up so quickly but i remember all her little steps and words and now she has a son and has said just what you and i , and most people have said while they are growing up.

That's so true! My mum told me when my daughter was born I will spend the first two years saying, walk for mummy, talk for mummy, and the next sixteen years saying sit down and shut up! I have an eight year old and a sixteen month old and she was so right!

I was glad when my daughter could talk just so she could express herself easier and I could understand what was happening in her life better. I liked it when she could tell me if she was in pain, sick, or not feeling well for what ever reason. Plus it was fun listening to her as she learned to use her speech. Telling me stories, asking questions, etc..etc... She is 13 now and sometimes I wish she would shut up but not often. I still enjoy driving into town and talking with her on the way.

I don't know why, but I agree with you that I want my son to grow up a little.. he's only two months and everyone makes a big fuss over him, but for some reason I just don't find him all that interesting.. he just cries and eats and poops and spits up.. I think I'll enjoy him more when he can do a little more..

Lol i know what you mean its just because we cant wait to see the next stage of development of our child, they grow up to fast so it would be nice to have them as our babies again its just human nature we cant wait for it to happen and when it does we spend the rest of their childhood and teens telling them to shut up and sit down

I loved it when my kids could walk and talk, they were fascinating and came out with such wonderful idea s and answers to life.
Now I am enjoying it once again through my grandchildren, its the most wonderful period of my life, and I have more time to enjoy it this time! We have such wonderful chats! And we go off and wander around for hours, and I can enjoy the world once again through their eyes!!!!

Its the competitive element in us.
We want our kids to be the first to sit, crawl, walk, talk etc.
Its all about bragging rights.

That's all part of life, when they can walk and talk that's when you appreciate having 5 mins of quiet and relaxation
