I believe in some countries it is not permitted to wear camouflage trousers/jackets as only militrary personnel are allowed to. Does this apply to Thailand

You can, but I wouldn't--especially right now while the changes are happening.

Thailand means the land of the free. There are no rules. You can do anything you want. It's best not to upset anyone of course. As far as dress is concerned, the Thais don't like nudity in public, so, if male, keep youir shirt on, except on the beach.
Just do what makes you feel good. You will never have felt so free and untroubled.
Thailand's great.

Actually, I saw a photo in the newspaper of toddlers dressed in camouflage as sort of a miltary coup chic... so, pardon the pun, you might blend in nicely.. And the comments above from David, well, it is quite free and easy here, but there are most certainly rules and laws as there are in other countries as well.. as to attire, it is tropical here and mostly casual works ok...

People over here are so nice. You are almost free to dress the way you want to unless you have to go to a government office, temple etc. There respectable dressing is essential like all over the world.

No, you can wear that stuff here. Lots of people do. Not a big deal at all.

Yes, you can. It is not that rigid there, and camouflage is fashionable there anyway.
