Sorry my point appears to have been missed....we all bleat on about the oppressed Muslim women in their hijab & veils but what a lot of so called Christians seem to overlook is that Mary didn't ponce about in a mini skirt....look at your own religions before slagging off others!

I'm pretty sure that while they did not wear those specific items, they did wear whatever was considered fashionable at the time. fashion is one thing that is definitly not new!!

interesting question basically, what youre saying is that Christianity and other religions are as prone to 'dress code' as as some very obviously dresscoded religions in a more or less severe way but that we just dont notice it because were used to it.

I think that in many respects you are right, there are a lot of people out there with ideas of respectability, and what is/is not appropriate for religion and respectful conduct within a religion. This is an area of contention in all religions especially when they are trying to ascertain what is right traditionally in their x thousand year history and what precisely they can change if they can change anything at all.

did they have mobile phones, computers, cameras, etc? Lets get over this stuffpeople they were beings of another time and soceity if that had been the mode of dress back then I am sure they would have done so! Although Mary in a thong does sound a little extreme but a crop top and jeans why not! Life is about fun not being reserved and judgemental! reaper out..............

I think you're confusing them with The Scissor Sisters. The holy family wore nothing - they were naturists and went on holiday to naturist camps in Devon, you can still see them in National Geographic films.

Allah the Almighty says:{Beautified is the life of the world for those who disbelieve; they make a jest of the believers. But those who keep their duty to Allah will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. Allah giveth without stint to whom He will.}-holy quran-
