Having asked your imput on the bible personality, recently, want to know the book in the bible most helpful.?

This can be either form the O.T. or the N.T. and please give imput on why your choice was most valuable to you and in what way. thank you.

Although many suggest starting with the Book of John (NT) I find Mark and Matthew easier for starters.

In the epistles, I find strength from 1 and 2 Timothy. It took me years as a Christian to understand Romans, but I could always relate to the Psalms and read them as a nightly ritual.

But if I am feeling frightened or anxious I go right to John chapters 14 -17 and feel like I've had a spiritual massage. Pure peace for the believer in those words. Amazing to realize our Lord spoke those comforting words just before He went through the crucifixion.

There are different teaching in different books. The Psalms are great for prayer and contemplation. There is some great prophesy there too. John tells us of God's great love for mankind. Mathew Christ's kingship...Al are necessary to paint the picture God would have us understand... Jim

I find the most helpful part of the bible is the part I open to at the time I am looking for guidance.
Any guidance I am needing will most assuredly be in the new testaments, where the laws of God were spoken of by Christ.
I learned not to judge, and how to love.
With these two things learned, the rest of the bible is the tools to help.

I have 2, Pslams and Proverbs. Pslams because it has alot of life lessons and prays from King David. Proverbs because of the wisdom. I figure I could use both and hopefully learn from it.

The OT has many cool books if you like violent porn stories

The Gospel pages tend to be the most read though, making them the softest choice as toilet paper whe it's time to clean up the mess.
