I love spicey food and I've marinated tuna in fresh chilli, olive oil, greated peel or a lemon or lime, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and some garlic, doesn't take away the flavour of the fish but just enhances it and gives it a kick.

This one is courtesy of Jami Oliver modified to my taste
Into a plastic food bag put, serves two
Tuna steak, juice of 1 lime, dash or 2 of soy sauce, one chili pepper chopped (the strong Thai ones work really well)with seeds if you want, coarse chopped coriander.
Shake the lot together and leave to marinade for 5 to 10 minutes
shallow fry the steak with the marinade
I usually serve this with sir fry vegetables and noodles

My favourite for tuna:
Chop up several chillies - small. Take 4 parts soy sauce to 1 part lime juice. Bottled is fine. Mix them all up together and let sit for at least 30 mins.
Then pour on to a plate and let the tuna sit in the mixture for ten minutes each side. Then griddle, grill, fry. If you don't want bits of chilli on the steak simply filter the liquor before showing the tuna to it.

My favourite recipe....buy the Peri Peri sauce from Nandos, (you can buy it in Sainsburys) smother the tuna in it, wrap it in clingfilm, leave it in the fridge wrapped up for a couple of hours, flash fry and add a little more sauce, serve with a wedge of lime a grapefruit and crayfish salad and some warm crusty bread, mmmmmmmm perfection. x x x
Oh and a corona and lime with mine please. x

Lime juice and black pepper. The lime goes perfect with tuna, too much seasoning and it spoils the flavour

Depends on your taste but it seems you like it hot.
I like it with basil and thyme but it must be marinated say overnight for the taste of the garnish to penetrate the meat
