I think it's to do with Judaism..?
I'm reading "The Autograph Man" by Zadie Smith and it has a big part in the book and I can't carry on without knowing what it means..

Anything relating to gentiles, especially to rich white upper class gentiles. Having a horse and taking riding lessons, belonging to a classy country/golf club, Proms. Those are all Goyish things to do. Rolling up your sleeves like a laborer, spitting in public, swearing getting totally pissed drunk and passing out on the lawn. All those lower class or working class things are not goyish even if it is gentiles doing them. Barbie and Ken dolls are models of goyishness, very prep-school even the names are goyish.
