Always take the highroad and dress appropriately. That is how you can tell the boys from the men. No need to be all black and mourning but make it dark at least and a bit dressy. Show that you made an effort. You might stand out on the way there a bit but you will absolutely fit in there and the family will appreciate it (as will others close to him)!!

First, I would ask around and find out if there is a dress code, such as wearing a school uniform. If not, I would go with a dark suit. It would be respectful. When in doubt always dress up. Better to be too formal than too relaxed. If wearing a suit, a tie would be appropriate. If not, dress clothes would be acceptable.

If the headteacher was from your school, then wear your official clothing. If the headteacher was from a different school, wear a black suit and tie. Its good etiquiette.

If the rest will be wearing official clothes, go with that. Otherwise "church" or 'out to dinner with stuffy rich grandparents" would do. In other words, dress respectfully... Its the guy's funeral after all, not a party or fun with your friends

Sober clothes. Ideally a suit, otherwise dark trousers (proper trousers, not jeans) and a dark jacket. White or cream shirt, dark tie. Avoid colour as far as possible and if you don't have a dark tie and can't borrow one, then as plain a pattern as possible. The main thing is that you will have made the effort to be there.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'official' clothes (uniform?) - but I'd dress soberly and formally - dark grey, navy blue or black suit and dark tie (assuming you're male LOL), or failing that (if you don't have a suit) dark trousers and EITHER dark shirt OR white shirt (not coloured).

Smart trousers and shirt will suffice, I believe that turning up to pay your respects is more important than the clothes you wear.

If in doubt wearing black is the most respectable option.
A nice black shirt and trousers if you don't have a suit. If you don't have much black then dark greens, blues or reds.

I would wear some nice smart black jeans and a 'sedate' top. I would go for black if possible. Unless they have stated a 'no black' policy, which some families do.

Dark tie and trousers, should be a suite if you have one, if not go with collar and tie and dark trousers.
