if you can remember the name, what are some of the best dishes you had while you were there? im only looking for the name, you dont have to go through the trouble of telling me the recipies.

the reason why im asking is because i have an equadorean cookbook with me, but since there are tons and tons of recipies to do different dishes, i dont want to do every single one of them to see which ones are good or not, i prefer getting references.

so just name them, if you can remember, thanks!

oh! my favorite ones were la sopa de zapallo and el ceviche de pollo...yum!!!!!

i forgot to tell you, i am originally from equador, born in quito, but i lived in the states since i was 4. i go to equador every so and then and i enjoy the people and food there, it is nothing unlike anywhere else. that is why i have a cookbook from there and that is why iam craving to know what are the best dishes to prepare from my own home sweet home :)

Hola, try ceviche de camarón, concha, or calamar. Those are awesome in the coast. If you get to find plantain bananas, try "corviche", "bolones de verde", or the best one: "caldo de bola de verde", or just "caldo de bola"
From the sierra try "fritada", "yahuarlocro", "colada morada".... on easter try "fanesca." Also try "llapingachos" or "tortillas de papa"
Have a good time tasting the flavors of home!!

Hello: I am from Guayaquil.
Well you know that we have different kinds of dishes. Since I am from the coastal region, I prefer arroz con menestra, güatita, caldo de bola, carne asada con patacones. If I were from the highlands, I would love to eat llaguarlocro, cuy, llapingachos, mote con chocho.
Yummy! I'd rather have some oreos before going to bed.
