Mate, I know what you mean. I grew up supporting Liverpool like my siblings but I live in London. I decided in my teens that I wasn't really a fan of theirs, I started supporting Barnet and Kingsbury town (don't even look for them). I enjoy it, a few of my mates are Chelsea and Arsenal fans, going to see a match, getting food, travel and a few lagers costs over £100 for the day, it's outrageous. Besides lower league football is far less tactical and far more enjoyable. I'm not interested in watching a strategic battle on the pitch, the premiership is turning into serie A.

I think that peopleare looking for a bit more than the honest hard working footballer.Espeacialy the way the media dress up the premier league and champions league, make it look all so much better and action of the highest quality. For me i agree with you mate grass roots is still the best and will continue to rule. And all so it comes down to advertising and money, so the big city teams have the money and power to influence most of the youth. The villages and towns do not have money, power or time to advertise as well as there big rivals.

your spot on its all about glory hunting, sum of thesepeople do have genuine reason for surporting the big clubs and many of these people are season ticket holder's but what gets up my back is the people who support them and will never watch them play live, feek sum of these people cant even name a player in the old firm teams they just where the strip cause there mate where's one now that is sad, scottish football would be alot better state if these people supported there local team and put the money into local clubs
i supported a junior team called stonehaven and went to watch them every week home and away with my dad intill i was old enough to go and watch my true love aberdeen fc i had no intrest in the old firm and i used to get slagged for it.but why would a boy from the north east of scotland support a team from glasgow its all wrong
GLORY HUNTING SCUMBAGS and they wonder why we hate them so much
as for what flourish green said he has no idea about football in this country feek he even call's it soccer it just prove's he has no idea

Just because you support your local team, it doesn't make everyone who doesn't a glory hunter.
People from other towns can be just as loyal to a team in another town. I'm from the USA, which is basically bleh in football, so I support Liverpool in the Premier League, and not because of their success. Steven Gerrard is one of my favorite players, and so I support his club because I support him. If he is ever transferred, I will still support LFC, as I have now become familiar with the team and I have learned to enjoy watching the players. It's not about glory for me; it's just about watching some good ol' football.

I do agree, but then again, I'm fortunate that my local team has had periods of success.
But, ultimately, football is an entertainment industry and people will pay to watch good football. Similarly, if your local picture house was showing a poor film, would you not pay that little extra to see a blockbuster at the multiplex in the next town?

i am from Merseyside and grew up supporting Everton, with whom i have had a season ticket with for the last 5 years. Its a well known fact that most the people on merseyside support Everton and we often play a game called 'spot the scouser in the kop'. When the red sh1te won the champions league more people came to the home coming then what actually live on merseyside

I support my local team and I watch and support big times as well on TV. I think it is better to support lower team in away it is cheper and much more cost affectif. These big tean are to much money and price you one ticket is very very very big. I think it is descusding.

soccer aint about blind patriotism. your time and money is involve. if ur local team cant afford you the desired entertainment then go where you can get good soccer even if it means travelling to space.
