I think the Welsh word for red is coch (as in cochineal) but not sure if that's Celtic Welsh. If you mean Afrikaans rather than africans, is it rood - I think the Afrikaans language is based a lot on Dutch isn't it and I like Roobosh tea which means 'red bush'.
