Nipples perk up from a variety of factors. Most girls nipples become erect when they're chilly, either indoors or outside. Nipples also become erect in times of sexual excitement and arousal, similar to the way a guy's penis gets hard.
The degree of sensitivity varies from girl to girl, and has little to do with breast or nipple size, as some people think. Some girls nipples are very sensitive and perk up easily and frequently, while others are less sensitive and rarely become erect.
Speaking for myself, mine are pretty sensitive and become erect easily. If if braless, my nipples perk right up when my boobs rub against the inside of my shirt, simply from the contact with the material. Also, I go to the nude beach and most girls nipples (including mine) are always perky there because of the breeze that passes over our bare boobs.
Some girls refer to their erect nipples as "highbeaming", a cute term for a simple physical reaction. Some girls are embarassed with their erect nipples, others enjoy the sensation and others could care less either way. One thing is certain, though...most guys love to see perky nipples!

The air conditioning needs to be turned down. Like when an erection is merely a sign of having to piss early in the morning.. don't read too much into it.

Like they said if the nipple is erect is cold. Also I think it also means that the person is sexually aroused.

firstly there is not much of a thing for hard nipples.. all it is for girls is the fact that they're a bit cold.. nipples just get hard like a penis would...
