If you are handling small business MS Access is the very typical database and affordable database that you can get. But for big business its not advisable to have one because it lack relationships between elements and it cannot handle that too much data

Every software/weakness has it's weakness.

The security layer is very thin and easy to break thru.

Also Ms Access can only handle about 20 users at a time, even then that is pushing it. It will grind to a halt.

And, like many databases, in balloons itself up with empty space as it thinks you will require more data in your database over time so you have to keep compacting it.
