I'm on a 2 week temp assignment with a new agency while I look for full time work. Kinda sucky job, but it's only for 2 weeks so I deal in the hopes that I get in good with the agency and they give me more work. Thurs. of week 2, they tell me they want me to stay on for another week. Not really keen on it, but I figure I'll endure for 1 more week. 4:45 of the same day, I'm making small talk with my "boss" and he explodes "You need to shut the f**k up when I'm busy! Now turn around and do what I told you to do!" Obviously, I'm definitely NOT coming back for week 3. I just want my money for the time I've worked, which means I have to go back in and work a full-day on Friday. The idiot who did the yelling is the one who signs my time card. Should I tell him I'm not coming back for week 3, and risk him not signing (and not getting paid?) Or should I just try to pretend everything's AOK until I get my timecard signed? Either way, my chances with this agency are shot! I just want my $

You get many an asshole in business, but why ruin your reputation with the agency? You must not let this dude get away with your career prospects- aproach the agency concerned & explain what happened to them, ten to one he is one of their asshole clients, but money is money so they need to keep him happy- they also need you though and might have another perfect position for you. Honesty is the best way, aproach the Agency, tell them what happened & tell them that you are a man/woman of your word, so you will work the extra week out & behave profesionally merely because you have

You should report this incident to the temporary agency that placed you, and they should be willing to remove you tactfully from the position. It may even result in people not being placed with this company, or at least not under this supervisor again. Regardless of whether your actions were distracting in the workplace (no way to really tell that from your question), this was unacceptable behavior from someone in a supervisory position, and he definitely needs to be disciplined for the incident. Since you do not personally work for the company, the best way to do that is to go through the temp agency you do work for. They will also let you know whether in this situation you need to provide any notice if you are not returning to work when you agreed to stay an extra week.

No one deserves that. He is ignorant for speaking to you that way. No I would not go back for week 3. Go in Friday get your time card signed. Monday go in as if your going to work. Tell him what he can do with his job. Tell him that he will never get the chance to cuss you like that every again. He was lucky to have you. Leave him in a bind. Even if it's for a day or two it's his loss. Good luck

I am a temp so I can help you on this. First talk to your agency rep. Tell them how you were treated. Then talk to the HR rep at the company. Then go to a new temp agency . Don't quit yet. I know a lot of temp jobs suck A*** but its cash. BTW what agency do you work for?

I'd say be as nice as you can Friday, get paid, then file a complaint and tell why you are not coming back for week three.
Let the higher-ups deal with him. I'm sure you are not the first person who he has abused. When there are enough complaints, he will be the one looking for a job.

He has a Total disregard of Professionalism, and is way out of line. You have every right to explain to him that he treated you with a vulgar manner, and he's lucky you do not take your concerns to HR, or whomever is in charge...everyone has a Higher up. If you do not need the money, find other temp. employment. Ask for your money due you and politely leave.

Be the bigger man and just do week 3 if you said you would. Unless you are not a man of your word? There will always be dinks you have to deal with at work. A week is only another week.
