For a while, people thought aluminum might be a problem because they found concentrations of it in Alzheimer structures (plaques) in the brain. It turned out that this concentration was the result of, rather than the cause of, the disease. So there was a scare for a while, but they figured out it wasn't a problem.

Aluminum is the most common metal element in the earths crust (primarily in the form of Bauxite), so a lot of it is in our environment and we probably ingest quite a bit of it. Nothing to worry about.

The only way aluminum is not good for you is if you keep your food in the can and place it in the fridge even though its tin it does contain some aluminum elements. But, for the most part there's nothing wrong with it.
