First of all don't worry about what other people think, you are your own person.
If you are worried about it then see your GP and explain the situation to him/her.
I feel that if you take the advice of people who are telling you to eat loads of high calorie food just so you put weight on, then you will do yourself no favours at all.
As long as you keep eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg and dairy products and you feel ok in yourself then I cant see the problem.
If you start stuffing yourself then you will put unnecessary pressures on your internal organs and you may go from one extreme to the other.
Take care of yourself and good luck.

Whenever I've gone through problems like this, my body reacts the same way. Don't worry too much at the present time, although your weight in the first place is rather worrying. You may have a thyroid or similar problem anyway which has made you more prone to this situation.
I would suggest you do like the bodybuilders and weight trainers do - a diety high in proteins and carbohydrates. Avoid drugs - apart from not necesssarily achieving the results you want, they also have side effects that could have a longer negative effect - exactly what you don't want.
Keep exercise to a minimal but don't not do any at all.
Lastly have a check up with your doctor - your speeded up metabolism (which is what makes you burn up energy and fat faster) could be down to a thyroid or hormone imbalance - caused by the stress and distress of your breakup.
If all of the above is old hat to you - then I'm afraid it's just a matter of working your way through this situation until you see the light at the end of the tunnel - or meet someone who makes you smile again.
Best Wishes

DON'T EAT MORE (FAT)!!
if you want to gain weigh and stay at 8, and not go on growing obese, never ever ever eat till you burst!!!
I'm 16 now, and until i was around 14, i was forced into eating everything my mom put on my dish - a lot.
and then i didnt and didnt grow fatter, stayed at round 30 kilos with 12,13,14... then i started growing fat. now i need to turn round every bit of food i put into myself, and im not allowed anything sweet (im 45kilos now, always feel hungry even if i do eat much at meals and always have this nagging feeling in me that i should eat less - im 160cm)
the thing is to grow a bit more curvy without killing your tommy/ destroying your metabolism. eat when you are hungry and not more or less, don't drink anything before or whilst eating and start doing exhaustive things like pushups and jogging.
well i don't know what a breakup is (sry for that) but if its psychological don't eat more, regardless of your weigh, then you need to solve the rooot of your problem. the loss of weight can also be a warning of your body, so monitor what you are preoccupied with. if it's not, it can be a health problem (look up for that, i have no idea).
for the ill-thing, go out into the sun, enjoy yourself, have some sports, put some fancy make up on, whilst working on the problem.
im afraid i could say something wrong and there is some other source or something dangerous or you worry about nothing .. either way, take my post as some advice from someone who is no pro and does not know the entire story. keep that in mind ^.-

Hi Stacy
I was in a similar position a few years ago, I went down to under 7 stone, not good. I am now a healthy 8 stone.
Eat lots of carbohydrates (cereal, bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, baked goods, couscous, etc)
Avoid eating lots of fat/sugar, that won't give you lasting healthy weight gain.
My top tips
- always eat a proper breakfast (cereal)
- have banana or flapjack for snack during the day
- have a pasta-based evening meal
- try another bowl of cereal before bed
If you are depressed your appetite will dry up. It's important to get some fresh air & exercise every day, even if it is just a walk to the local shop. This will stimulate your appetite.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol, drink plenty of water, try and get a good night's sleep. These will all help your body regain a healthy routine.
Good luck

Sometimes its really hard to put on weight due to your metabolism. I went down to 7st and had the same comments about looking ill. I would suggest eating healthy stuff but lots of it, nuts are good and high in calories so you can munch on them all day, also pasta type dishes are good. Bananas are high in calories so try and eat those every day. Basically, try to eat as much as you can during the day but space it out, if you try to eat too much at once your stomach will just get full.

Lots and lots of protein and carbs!
OR my favorite weight gain diet, that i did and it really did work:
To gain weight you must eat more calories than your body burns off, so EAT MORE! The most important thing that I cannot over stress is that you need to eat to gain weight. You need to eat like you've never eaten before. (but not junk food like donuts and chips or candy). In other words, you need a weight gain diet.
Start eating six meals per day (space them out to about once every three hours). This is a weight gain diet used by those who know what they're doing.
Increase your protein intake and reduce your simple carbohydrate intake. Without protein your body cannot build new muscle.
Keep your workouts under one hour. Short and intense!
Concentrate on free weight exercises that work the large muscle groups. The best weight training exercises for building mass are the simple ones. For mass, stick with compound free weight exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, barbell rows, pull ups and bar dips.
Use heavy weights and low reps, rest 3 minutes between each set.
Do only 2-3 exercises per body part.
Split your workout. Since you have a very high metabolism like me, you need to train with more intensity, but less frequently.
Day 1: Chest, shoulders and triceps
Day 2: Rest
Day 3: Back, and Bicep
Day 4: Rest
Day 5: Legs and abs
Day 6: Rest
Day 7: Rest
Increase you water intake. A good formula for this is to multiply your bodyweight by .66 to get the required number of ounces per day.
Use nutritional supplements. If you can't afford too many products, just stick with the basics; like whey protein. If you can't afford whey protein the next best thing is egg whites.

I in simple terms received 15 kilos. not in any respect enable your abdomen bypass hungry. it quite is the hardest section. in case you wanna earnings muscle then you quite're going to ought to commence performing some compound wieght routines and a lot less cardio. The extra cardio you do the added you should eat to make up for it. I thoroughly stopped cardio for a lengthy time period to attain this weight. Took me 2-3 months.

you should go and see you gp as this could be a health issue or pop in to your local holland&barrets and ask bulid up powder which you mix with water but it works better with milk this works by replacing the fats and proteins that your body is not getting but at the same time as taking it u must workout or your body will ave to much protein and it needs to be burned off or you will just balloon up in weight and also eat plenty of carbs i hope that this helps good luck
