there is a good side and bad side to free will
the good side is your free to make your own choices
the bad side is your freedom to do evil and make bad choices
so if God always stepped in everytime would that not INTERFERE with our free will

free will is a two way street we must take the good with the bad which is my opinion on why evil happens

A natural disaster like an earthquake or tornadoes or tsunamis are caused by natural forces.
In the recent Tsunami many were killed and they were killed randomly, old women, young children, babies etc.
I dont see how they were bad or did not deserve to live.
Dont you think if God punishes he should strike such natural calamaties on areas where the people are bad themselves you know areas where there are criminals, gangsters etc.

That is why in all mythologies it is written that the Gods came to earth to help mankind when they were in distress and in crisis, rather than asking anything from them like worship or acceptance otherwise Hell.

How does that interfere with free will? If there is a god and she interjects herself in a situation, I still have the ability of choice. Free will is the abilty to reject god and in doing that, reject the devil. I choose. I do. I do not. I and not another.

The better question should be, "do you have free will if you have faith in your religion or trust in your politicans?" There are limitations of lifestyle and censure of thought that contradicts free will. You are told by tradition or whomever what to think, what to do, but do you ask yourself, "should I think that way," or " should I do that?"

Yes, free will is a double edged blade. You choose this path, but this path limits your choice in another path. Your choice is progressively narrowed by your own decisions. That is the negative, but there is a positive. It is your ability to think and reason.

If we were made in his image and had free will, we'd always choose good. Unless god sometimes chooses evil too, intresting thought.

I don't see how god stepping in to prevent natural disasters like earthquakes would violate anyone's free will. Yet they still happen, don't they?

Well, if you read the Bible, it says that natural disasters are caused by God, just as every other thing in the natural world is. He causes them because he wants someone DEAD.

Don't Christians even read the Bible anymore?

Yep, when sin entered it spread like a wildfire throughout the earth. God said "...the day you eat of this tree you will surely die." And we've been paying since. Thats why Jesus came. For through one man (Adam) sin and death entered into the world. But through one man (Jesus Christ) forgiveness and life from God entered the world.

Actually ginger13 the angels have free will too (remember the fallen ones Lucifer took with him) , but angels were not created in God's own image like us.

Absolutely!! The only beings created without free will are the angels.
They are servants and messengers of God. He created us in His image. With a will of our own.

Obviously if divine intervention occured, then there is no free will....reason it out. Your question is pointless. If God intervenes, then there is no free will....but if there is free will then God doesn't do anything.
