Your quite right.
you cant fight a war against someone based on the fact that they are threatening your freedom and then turn around and say if Muslims want freedom they have to go elsewhere.
it just goes to show the religious and political agendas behind the "war on terrorism".Its obvious hypocrisy.
Why should muslims not be allowed to have mosques when christians are allowed churches and jews synogogues????!!
the west claims that muslim states are opressive but when it suits them then they want to advocate our practises.
im talking about the previous coment about wearing the veil.
If we are so oppressive for forcing the issue why are you following us???
The UK claims to support religous freedom but they are constantly trying to oppress any kind of Islamic practise.
The middle east is run under Islamic law and hence the veil is enforced. the west claims to be better than us because they have religous freedom and freedom of expression.
How is forcing someone to be like everyone else a freedom anyway? your coments are nonsensicle.

I agree; Muslims should abide by Rules but what about the Hypocrisy...
Unable to understand the problem of Mr.J.Straw. Why he is worried about muslim woman's veil. If you look back in history... it was in use of western society!
West is loosing its traditions, values and wisdom by adopting Secularism; they pretend to be moderate but they are not.
West has adopted mean methods to misguide their own commons and creat hatred for muslims and their Glorious culture.
His statement may be a new milestone in the name of Crussade-II, started by Junior Bush!
Whenever there is some peace they start a new issue!
Freedom!!! What is this? - A word without meaning!!!

Jack Straw is correct, in Britain we have a culture of face to face, eye to eye contact. Where someone can't look you in the eye we feel them to be less trustworthy. It is quite in order that Jack requires this to be respected. Muslims who disrespect our culture should be forcibly expelled from the country
The loss of freedom is the loss of freedom of the English people to enjoy their culture without an alien culture trying to restrict it

In this day and age when people can't bring baby bottles onto planes because Muslim terrorists are trying to blow them up, the least people can do to reassure their neighbors is uncover their faces. BTW I've always wondered, why do Muslims think men's bodies are ok but women's are evil and dangerous and have to be hidden?

So, suggesting that a woman uncover her face while talking in a group, which by the way is considered polite in most places, is somehow an act of terrorism? Yeah, nice try. Muslim women in the west should be forced to take off the hijab and veil, just like western women in muslim countries are forced to wear it. that is freedom, thefreedom to be like everyone else in the country.

sure it quite is super for him to ask. it quite is super for them to say no, which they do no longer seem to have finished while asked. donning a veil over the face isn't mandated by the Islamic faith. it quite is a prepare in some sectors and communities. it is own selection.

It's a free country. He can choose to talk to whoever he wants.
But some Muslims are sometimes too fanatic that they do not really understand what Islam is. Covering face is not an obligation.
Peace.

Yous question was pretty hard to understand with the wording you used but in my opinion Muslims should abide by our rules and live our way of life if they want to live in a non Muslim country. I don't want to be over run with them but it seems to be going that way. I don't think they should cover up, I don't think they should be allowed mosques or special councils for every thing. I don't agree with the Muslim police officer who asked not to do his duty because he didn't agree with the war. They are slowly but surely changing everything to suit them. They want to integrate but they make themselves stick out by wanting special rules and situations for them.

You're right.
I thought women in the UK have freedom to dress as they want. Don't they have the right to dress modestly anymore?
