My kennel has a Greek name, so my dogs are named old Greek words. Many people chuckle or think the names are wierd..

Such as, Diadema Archon Ek Exousia...Xerxes, Xanthos, Asteah, Phaedre, Kalos, Schema, Talitha, Simrah, etc

Well the names wen't weird as such, but for some reason every dog we've ever has has had their name start with B

Butchy
Benny
Beau
Blootcher
Banjo
Benny , number 2
Black Hawke

this is over the years of course!....but now its has become tradition, that anytime anyone in our family gets a new pet it has to have a B name!.........LOL

We are getting a new dog soon and planning to call it Berry or Blossom...( my daughters choices...lol )

In the movie "Shirley Valentine", there was a big floppy bloodhound with the name of Claymore. I thought it was the funniest name for a dog that I have ever heard. A friend of mine once had a Shiatsu (?) that she named Gizmo.

A friend had a dog named Bitc.h, not very useful in public.

An ex had a dog called Dude, but i kinda liked that name.

But the worst by far is a dog called Pubes, for obveious reasons, its fur looked like pubes.

My Lab's real name is Tritan ( he is a water dog and Triton is the son of Poseidon/ mythology god of the water). But more than not I call him Chunky Monkey because he is slightly pudgy and is as goofy and gets into trouble like a monkey.

CRICKET- because when we got the puppy in Oklahoma there were a ton of crickets on the side walk that night.

CARTER- that was the name brand on the pair of overalls that my son was wearing the day we got out big puppy.

Fish- for a cat. because the kitten always was hiding under the furniture and we would use things to try to fish him out.

We have a female Schnauzer pup. We ended up calling her wookie like off starwars. We thought she looked like the little bears but then we found out that the bears and not wookies, that Chewbaka is the wookie. Poor dog...

my story is great, we adopted this dog from the pound and he was kinda older and the name he went by for 4 months at the pound he never answered to, but we kept calling him that name hopeing one day he would start answering to it, then me and my boyfriend were trying to call him over to us and my B/F got so pissed and he was like that dam dog wont answer to anything, I can call him COOTERDAD and he wouldn't know the difference.. as soon as that word came out of his mouth the dog came running, we started laughing so hard.. and our dogs name is COOTERDAD... sad, but true!!!! its the only thing he has ever responded too

We named our miniature dachshund "Grendel", from the book Beuwolf. Grendel is the monster... when he was a tiny puppy he was all teeth and paws, so it was appropriate.

Now at 8yrs his name is coming into style! (what with the upcoming Beuwolf movies and all!)
