That depends on how much you want to weigh. Take your idea weight and multiply that by 13 if you are an active person who goes to work or school most days. If you stay home and sit in front of a TV or computer all day then use 11 as the multiplier. If you weigh more than your ideal weight, by consuming the calories of your ideal weight, you will soon weigh that. Or you could move more and get a higher multiplier.

Normal routine 4000 Calories(kcal)
Diet weight loss 1200 or 1800 Cal

This amount depends entirely on how many you burn through exercising during the day.. Someone who works hard all day will need at least 3800 calories..sedentary workers often don't need more than 12-1500.
