The thing is people afraid of dying are really afraid of living--that is, they know they havent lived up to their potential.
If you get relief knowing you could end your life and dont, just relief knowing that it could be done, there's not actually any real harm in that.
Kind of like an alternate escape route.
But quit doing it, quit indulging in the thoughts, cuz when or if you ever get angry enough, you've already kind of rehearsed and its not too much of a jump from that point.
I'd suggest a savings account even to start with just enough money to go somewhere by plane to just 'get lost' if need be. Add to it later as you can for hotel and food. Not kidding. Just having enough money to 'get away' is a better start than daydreaming about taking a one way jump.

I think you have both Anxiety Disorders and Depression. People with OCD think like you, annoying thoughts of imaginary harm.
OCD is explained here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OCD

Clinical depression (also called severe depression disorder, major depression disorder) is a state of intense sadness, melancholia or despair that has advanced to the point of being disruptive to an individual's social functioning and/or activities of daily living. Although a low mood or state of dejection that does not affect functioning is often referred to as depression, clinical depression is a medical diagnosis and is different from the everyday meaning of "being depressed".

You must get professional help if your problems are preventing you from living a normal life. A clinical psychiatrist can diagnose and treat your problems. In 3 - 6 months you will become perfectly okay with proper treatment. You can taper off the meds after a complete disappearance of symptoms. Psychotherapy helps a lot to prevent relapse.

I have the same problem! im bipolar, but for as long as i can remember i think about that stuff. its so strong sometimes when im high up on a balcony or even in a shopping mall that i have to really concentrate and focus, telling myself not to do it. worse than that is whenever i have a knife in my hands i imagine cutting my throat. and the usual throwing myself in front of a car. but the bottem line is that no matter how bad i may feel at times i would never NEVER do it to my family. so not sure how to help other than tell you that you are not alone in thinking like this, if it really gets serious and you get close to doing it just think of those that love you.

You should talk about these feelings, preferably with some sort of counselor, psychologist or psychiatrist. I know you say now you aren't thinking of actually killing yourself, but you also say that you are. Thinking of jumping is thinking of killing yourself and the thought is a step in the process of actually doing it.

Jumping is NOT certain and it is a very messy, painful way to go even if it works. You want to talk to a jumper who lived? I can set it up. It's not pretty.

Sounds like you are a little depressed. I still have those feelings, but manage to keep them very well under control. If you feel like the urge is unbearable phone the suicide hotline and make an appointment with a doctor. Just know that there are people who love you and would greatly miss your company.

There are a lot of non suicidal people out there who will worry and think about death a lot. If you are picturing yourself jumping off a bridge and your screen name says "suicidal"... I don't understand why you stated that you do not want to kill yourself. Maybe you personally do not want to kill yourself but you want things to end. I am not sure. You should talk to a professional to try to sort things out. Good luck.

No it's not, but it happens to the best of us. I do it because I am crazy in the head so they say. Most people have no freakin idea how it feels. This world is full of a--holes..

Talking about it is not that easy.. Everyone says talk to someone.. Why they look at you like your an alien.
