One of my male friend say he paid 35 dollars for hair cut. Also few of salons I went to charge as much as 50 dollars. Why do they charge so much and why do some people pay that much for a hair cut?

You typically pay for what you get for.

You get a cheap haircut may appear just as nice as an expensive haircut... but take into consideration the quality and treatment when you pay more. Hair dressers scissors can cost over $1000, plus they have to be sharpened every couple months. Plus if they put product in your hair, give you a wicked head message....give u tea/coffee... sometimes you pay a lil extra just for the experience. But in the end when you get a cut w/ an 'expensive' pair of scissors, it's a clean cut, hair falls nicer, and you won't get split ends.

My Dad used to say, "some people have more Dollars than Sense". I think it applies in this case. Some folks seem to think that the more expensive a product is the better it is. In some cases that is quite true, in other it isn't.

As far as I'm concerned I will pay $7 for a hair cut, go to lunch and fill my gas tank. Let the others pay $100 for a hair cut. Then watch close, in 3 to 4 weeks we will both need another haircut.

Hi I am a hairdresser and if you're not very good at styling your own hair it might well be worth spending a few quid getting it done professionally (plus it wont fall out!). However if you really cant afford to do that then maybe one of your friends could do it for you. It would help if you had some heated rollers (or again ask a friend if they have) cos they are fab at putting in lovely defined flowing curls... or some large rollers (maybe invest in some setting lotion which is just a temporary thing till you next wash your hair to set the curls) then just loosely pin some up and let some bits fall down around your face/neck. Classic/romantic hair up style... Hope you enjoy your event.

You are paying for the skill of the hairdresser or simply the name and reputation of the salon. however, a good haircut will look good even if your hair grows out long. in addition, the service they provide, the greetings, the tea, the magazines and of cos the very expensive rent!

When I lived in Philadelphia I went to the Jon Christopher Salon and paid $65 for a haircut. It was worth every penny, Jon is a genius. I highly recommend him, his color technique is amazing and the cut was always fabulous.

They give good service probably, I would not mind paying more for a better haircut.

Because they do a good job. You get what you pay for.

They are too rich and has no other things to spend their money on. So they decide to torture their hair. I really pity them.
