I am a Freemason of an esoteric Order. There are many pathways in Freemasonry. Mine is Co-Masonry. We admit women and men of all races and religions as long as they are over the age of 21, believe in a Supreme Being, are tolerant of religions other than their own, are of good character, wish to improve the world by improving themselves.

We are not a religion, though some would have you believe that. We are a system of morality, veiled in allegory and taught by a system of symbols. Our origins are shrouded in the past. Some say we come from the stone masons who built medieval churches. Others say we are the remnants of the Knights Templars. Still others say we are the heirs of the Ancient Mystery Schools. In any case, we work upon the only person we can, ourselves, to create a better world.

To become a Freemason, you must ask. If you are interested in Co-Masonry, feel free to click on the link below and ask there. You will never be recruited by any Freemasonic body. Once you ask, you will be given a form to fill out and then you will be interviewed. If you are married, your spouse will be interviewed to see if being in Lodge would pose a problem to them. Masonry does its best to inculcate the virtues of family, friends, country, and religion.

Eventually the Lodge members will vote upon your application. If the ballot is acceptable, then you will be initiated.

Despite what you may have heard, yearly dues are minimal. I spend more on an evening out than I do on dues. I do travel quite a bit to attend my Lodges (800 miles a month) since American Co-Masonry Lodges are fairly widely spread apart. Believe me, that is my choice. I get more from Masonry than I have ever put into it, I think.

My 23 year old, somewhat jaded, daughter says she has seen a real change in me. I am doing my best to lead an upright and better life. I am working toward being a more fitting and trustable person. Hard to say exactly what that is. We do not have dogma, you know, just that it seems that this alchemy is a very real thing.

In my Order, we do believe in Alchemy, the transformation of the lead of the heart into gold.

Whatever path you decide to take, I think you will find Freemasonry a very good road.

Hearty good wishes,
A Master Mason

They are an organization of men devoted to a common purpose.

They started in Europe during the Eligtenment to promote science and reason. They felt that reason and scientific thought should be the major infuence in every aspect of life. Politics, art, ethics, and even religion. To this end, while Masons believe in a Supreme Being, they are strong advocates of secularism.

There are masons in every major city in America, but to become one, you have to be invited to join by a member.

My advice is to befriend a mason and hope he asks you to join.

By the way, most of the Founding Fathers of the United States were Freemasons! :D

Welcome my freind,

The mission of Freemasonry is to promote a way of life that binds like minded men into a worldwide Brotherhood that transcends all religious, ethnic, cultural, social and educational differences; by teaching the great principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth: and, by the outward expression of these, through its fellowship, its compassion and its concern, to find ways in which each may serve his God, his family, his country, his neighbors and himself."

Masons were stonelayers. Then brick builders. And they
knew the science of designs. Like feng shui, I think it's
spelled, how forces are affected by shapes.
The knew the power in symbols, (the universal languauge).
I think you have to ask to join. They won't ask you. Even if you
go in a Temple. You have to ask, it's some rule.
Don't believe all that Illuminati and Freemason stuff. There are
undoubtedly evil people in everything. But like I told a friend who
said we should have nothing to do with things like that, cause
they're evil. I said if they are evil. That's all the MORE reason
good people should check into it and see what's going on.

i admire Alexander and James, they are stable and undying. Mason and Cole are too well-known and don't look to slot grown adult males as properly. Alexander James or James Alexander would be effective.

they are a religion descended from the teutonic knights or knights templar, and practice quabbalah--you don't just join, they have to take an interest in you, and it helps if you have a lot of money--it is a very rich church
