They are learning how relationships work. They are looking for acceptance and for good company. They are growing up to become adults which is not an overnight change but a gradual process. They are gradually changing from children to adults. Adults usually want to have relationships. Those who didn't want it - didn't reproduce :-) and had no kids to copy them.

There are many reasons to why.
It can be peer pressure. When they see their friends in the neighbourhood having at least they also dont want to be left out - they want to be counted.
Sometimes it is just for pleasure they just feel like having one.
It can be love or lets say attraction from the other party.
They want to feel loved by others.
As usual others just sexual relationship.
They are many other reason also depending on the cultural background.

Perhaps they want to experience some kind of love..and I think it's natural in their age and besides they just wanna feel cool in front of their other friends!

Its like shopping. You have to get to the store earlier to get the really good deals and to find out what you like and what you don't like in a future spouse.
