If the vet didn't know what was wrong, then it may be an allergy, to surfaces, capet cleaner, Swiffer Wet Jet, grasses, or room fresheners..All of these can be irritants and cause the vulva to be reddened..

I had the same problem with my dog but couldn't find what was causing it.I kept a close eye on her and it gradually went back to normal..Did your vet do any tests on her?It could be she has a urine infection that's causing the inflammation. If your really worried take her back to your vet for a second opinion.Good luck.

Why didn't the vet say what was wrong?

She could have a yeast or bacterial infection. If she shows any sign of discomfort (scooting on the ground, whining) take her back to the vet to be examined.
