The food AMOUNT recomendations on the bag are guidelines not gosple an active dog will need more. If hes healthy and parisite free (something you probaly will want your vet to check)& is still loosing wieght, feed MORE or go to a higher calorie food such as a preformance or puppy formula. DO keep in mind though: 1) many dogs go though a beanpole adolessent period just like teenage boys and its usually at slightly over a year of age. 2) Obesity is just a rampant in US dogs as American people so if hes thinner than your neighbors dog it may be that your neighbors dog is OVERweight not that Harry is UNDERweight.

Try some pet mince cooked with rice and vegetables. You could also mix in some powdered vitamins. Is he very active he may just be using up all his fat with exercise. Don't be too alarmed he will eat as much as you feed him when I have had pups I have fed them 3 meals a day till they were 3 years old. It is easier to cut back if they put on too much weight. So try dry food in the morning and night and cooked meat vegs with rice at lunch.

supplementations received't do it. First have him checked through a vet to be particular that's no longer a well being challenge. Then, you could purchase canines meals for lively canines that are more suitable in energy, and supplies you him extra protien. domestic dog nutrition is likewise more suitable in energy than individual canines nutrition even with the indisputable fact that that's a good idea to blend a touch into his ordinary nutrition, fairly than giving him a bowl complete. A surprising replace in nutrition plan may reason gastrointestinal topics, so type of ease him right into a sparkling nutrition.

we have a healthy pit , and he was a runt and when he got bigger he filled out a little, then he started getting thin, and just like you were were doing everything right, he was up to date with his shots.. and we took him to the vet.. the vet didn't put him on vitamins, but he gave us the best advice, he said to feed our dog protein food ( small small portion ) like eggs and, so my b/f would would cook like two eggs, and feed it to him, he also said putting unseasoned beans in his pedigree would help increase his weight, and after cooking hamburger meat pour a tiny bit over his dry dog food ( not the meant but the grease fatty part ) just couple of times a week .. our healthy baby weighs a solid 75 pounds now.. doing this really uped his weight a lot...

If he is losing weight I think you should take him to a vet for a check up. It might be something simple like tapeworms (if he has had fleas recenly) or maybe a tooth is bothering him. A relative's dog was quite overweight and when he started losing weight they thought it was good. But he was diagnosed with diabetes and now , with proper medication, he is doing fine. It is just best to be sure.

If he is losing weight, that is a sign of illness and you should take him to the vet. Vitamins won't do anything.
