Well, you should do this for one thing. Make an appointment with you doctor and talk to him/her about all you just told us so he will know all of what you are saying. Then go from there and no you can't sue your doctor for taking you off your pain meds. Good Luck

It depends--if your doctor cut you off with out a proper weaing schedule or a 30 day supply allowing you to find another Dr.--you may have claim. (assuming your meds are opiads used properly)

However, any Dr. dealing with Chronic Pain can stop treating a Pt. whenever they want and they do not even have to have a good reason--just so long as they dont send a pt. into withdrawel.

Most require a pain contract to be signed--so if you have one of those then read where it describes the Dr.s responsibility in the event of terminating treatment.

Blood levels and a pill count should be a simple way of clearing up your ex's accusations.
Drs. who are willing to treat CP are already under alot of pressure and have to be very careful that any use of opiads for CP is legit or they risk their license to practice medicine.

Already there have been far to many Pts that have abused these medications causing harm to the Drs. and serious CP pts.

call him up first and tell him that HIPPA law does not allow him to discuss these issues with noone unless auth by you. but he might have proof because we have done that here but we ask family memebers for proof to document in the chart..... A doctor can listen to anything a family member wants to say but he cannot respond or say anything about him or his health without the pts permission. Plus he cannot just cut you off like that he has too weine you off slowly or give you a 30 day supply and a notioce of discharge to give to time to find another dr.
