For myself, they are important part of my life but only for that particular period of my life, i guess we should always look forwards for the special someone instead and to be a better person instead.

cheers and best wishes!

yes, i agree with your statement above. That time was only a moment of time in the past. Now, we must look for another moment of our future. cheeerrss... :)

Yes. My ex-fiance and I broke up beigging part of 2003, and I still think about him a lot. I loved him and a part of me always will. I mean, I agreed to marry him for pete's sake. We broke up because he beat me up ONE night. I will ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT put up with someone hitting me and putting me in harms way. It was over that night, and it only got uglier. I had to get a protective order against him because he was stalking me, calling me constantly, showing up at my place of business, it was something that I had to do. I sorry that it had to end like that, but I glad I found out before I married him. And a part of me will always wonder what could have happened, and I think that that is a normal thing. He was my first love, and people just don't forget things like that.

Still thinking - is he really ex? Then, maybe you can tell me when do we regard them as ex and stop hoping and trying to fix things. This is the hard part - the letting it go, actually. 13 years is not a joke to put behind.

Yeah, I know we're doing it in reverse mode - you give answer, I ask question.

My boyfriend ended things just over 3 months ago and I struggle - I have good and bad days. I think about him constantly because I don't feel like we have a good enough reason to be apart. I was told that he didn't like it when we argued, but we were in the middle of stressful exams! Grrr!

Anyhooo...I've noticed that he still calls to hang out with me and has even recently admitted to still having feelings for me. I was ecstatic, but also confused. He knows that I'll jump for him, but he sees me when he feels like it. Not thinking about him is impossible as we are in the same class at university and we also see each other outside of classes!

I wish I could look into the future to see what will happen, but for now...#I just can't get you outta my head...#

Every once in a good while i think about the ex. You shouldnt block them out of your mind because if they were so bad that you need to erase them from your memory, then maybe you should not have been with them in the first place. My ex brought about some good changes in me when we split up that is partly the reason of who i am today.

of course, coz they were once a part of me and who i am today. my boyfriend died in a car crash and i still think and cry for him till now even if im married. my husband knows it and im grateful that he understands me. i guess it would be unfair if i forget him coz exes will always bring a memory to us wether good or bad. i believe its not forgetting ur past or exes but growing every second of our life taking every lesson we get from the past. Now i not only have a friend but also an angel to watch over me.

I have remained really good friends with a few of my ex's and it's great. I don't think of our relationships anymore, I used to at first and it was hard but we've since moved on to a higher level of respect for each other and can freely talk about everything... including people we are dating.

I still have some fond memories and always will, but I still remember the not so fond things and look to correct that when finding a new someone special. That's the cool thing about memories, you can pick and choose and use them to your advantage.

I can't forget them becaus they made me the type of person I am today. Rather they were great or bad, there influences helped me to become the me people see me today. I used to reminice and wish I still had them but you have to somehow move on which has been tough.

Always try to be friends with everyone of them, but you come across that small few that it wont work out trying to be friends cause they think they still have a chance , so you have to weed Thur and pick and choose your friends carefully
