Speaking in tongues means you are able to speak fluently in many different world languages and different dialects and be able to understand what you are saying. It's doesn't all sound like on language. And if the Holy Spirit gives you this gift, you just have it. You didn't have to study languages for years to speak them. It all of a sudden happens. It's a gift from the Holy Spirit given to certain people He deems able to travel the world and tell others about God. It is a rare gift. Few have this gift. Some claim they do but they either learned the language or two in a year or so or they are just babbling nonsense and noone can understand a word they are saying. I've seen these people that babble and dance with snakes, they claim they have the gift but they don't.

since when is "speaking in toungues" related to hebrew neccesarily?
I got the impression "speaking in toungues" was either incomprehensible or simply a real language that the person doesn't happen to actually know.
but I guess one imagination of what someone might be able to call "Speaking in toungues" could be speaking in a form of angelic language, of which hebrew is probably the closest to that could be pronounced.
but thats just what comes to mind for me.

Sounds to me like you are an antisemite. No room for that today with sll that is going on.If you are Christian search for and reach out to Jesus. May I remind you, that He lived a life of an Orthodox Jew and died as one. You have a hidden agenda and anyone who has half a brain can see it. Good luck to you, you will NEED it

i think it is because the bibles original language was composed in Hebrew and people over the years have made it in to their own language, which is why it still in a way sounds Hebrew.
