Keep up the advantage flea preparation on the pets, but to rid the house of them you will mostly likely have to use a Flea bomb, which kills the adult fleas, and the eggs on hatching.

But you most follow the instructions closely, ensure pets are outside, including birds and fish. Vacate the house for a maximum of 3 hours while flea bomb works, (make sure you turn off any gas pilot lights too). When finished open up the house to let fresh air in.

hiya well first off i would get to the vets for frontline and then also buy a 'flea bomb' clear the room of the animals for a few hours, like put them somewhere else safe and out the way and then shove the cats bedding and anything else the cat sleeps on etc into the washer on the highest setting. then once the room is clear (following instructions of course) let the flea bomb get to work. if you still feel like that hasnt worked then you can buy powder that you sprinkle on the carpets and then hoover up after a hour or so, you can also buy furnishings spray (fleas will live in you chair etc too not just your carpet!) and bob martins do the full flea range and you can pick the range up in a supermarket like asda.

hope this helps

I no longer live where fleas are a problem.
I do remember that there is no quick way of getting rid of these. If you use the sprays you will have to not only leave the house, but will have to get your other critters out. All food air tight. Open water you got to do something with as well as doing this all again within like 30 days.

Yuk ; well the first link you will learn way to much about a flea, or at least I did......new I did not like those things!

This second site is a way to kill these things naturally, this site recommends Fleabusters. This stuff dehydrates and kills fleas without actually being a poison or insecticide, this I would think would be good for your other critters. That link is the second one.

Hope this helps you! Where we live it is to warm or to cold for these nasty things in the house. I remember when living on the beach that taking the dogs out for a swim in the ocean always took care of these and those ticks. We do have ticks and have to watch for them, even on the horses!

In my experience, it is cheaper to call a professional exterminator to come spray and treat your home. Fleas get everywhere, in everything cloth and fur- and unless you get the eggs it's hopeless. The exterminator can treat it all and rid you of the problem once and for all. You will have to remove your bird and turtle during the treatment, but usually they can come back inside very quickly afterwards. Be sure you strip down the bird cage and consider having it treated as well- if possible- as fleas will get on birds as well. It is cheaper in the long run to just pay a professional than it is to continue to buy stuff and try to treat it yourself. Tell them its for fleas before they come, and ask for their recommendations regarding your pets. If you have a yard, be sure that gets treated too. When there is a flea population explosion, they will ride your pant hems to get inside, not just on the animals.

Best thing I can tell you is that fog stuff. The only thing is you can't be in your home for like 6 to 8 hours. So I wouldn't recommend that your bird or turtle be in the house. That stuff really works. another thing to do is get some night lights and put a little bowl of water underneath all of them. The fleas will jump towards the light, land in the bowl of water and drown. We did this, and it worked, but it doesn't get all of them.

There is no way Advantage made your fleas worse. Once it is on your pet for 12 hours, it kills every flea that comes in contact with your pet. Your pet is literally a flea killer! So you need to get some more Advantage and reapply it. Vaccuum your floors and get rid of the vaccuum contents immediately, or they'll just reinfest.

To see how bad your flee problem really is try this put on a pair of clean whit socks preferably knee high and walk thru your carpeted room where the fleas are. if your white socks become black with fleas i would call an exterminator.if there are just a few use a bomb.

get a shallow bowl fill it with hot water and dishing washing liquid and put a lamp over the bowl and turn it on. The fleas will think it's an animal and jump into the water and die. try this for a month or to and you will see a lot of dead fleas in thew bowl clean it every day and repeet the cycle all over again.

Take your family and all the pets outside for a few hours and set off a flea bomb. It works.

If you can't bomb the house, try using citronella or some other citrusy fragrance. Fleas hate it. And you have to use A LOT of it, but it won't hurt your other critters...my bird and crayfish are OK.
