Hi !

I found very nice Mercedes on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=110039111065&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT)

It has only Bill of Sale, and no title
Will it be possible to register it in Maryland ??? Are there any catches ????

Thank you !

That vehicle is not in the US legally! It cannot be registered or titled or operated on public roads in the US. Non conforming vehicles can only be imported for 1 year and MUST then be exported permanently at the end of that year. They are subject to confiscation and destruction if not exported at the end of the year.

In all likelihood the car was brought in from either Canada or Mexico without being properly imported under DOT and EPA rules or posting of the mandatory 400% export bond.

You will NOT be able to register, title, or insure the vehicle in the US.

THIS is a scam .. LOTS of people have been taken by similar scams...you will send your money..usually by Western Union and that will be it..you will NEVER see the car. DON'T DO IT! .. you will be sorry I promise you!

By the way, I looked at the E-bay listing and it's questionable BECAUSE he claims that they have driven the car for a year BUT can't tell you about "What state you can register vehicle in" ..well if it IS in New York and he HAS been driving it for a year you would think you could register it in New York...right? My opinion is BEWARE!
